Is it worth cleaning my EGR?
Hi all,

I've had a problem starting my 2.4 puma and I think I've traced it down to the glowplugs.

While I've got all of that side of the engine apart is it worth cleaning the EGR? Access is good at the moment. Is it something that I can do myself and the other obvious question is what would the symptoms of a faulty EGR valve be?

Dave

Yes!
They are straight forward to clean, you can unclip the top of the motor housing, strip it and grease it up,
There is nothing scary inside, only a motor and gears.

A good dose of brake cleaner in and around the valve assembly, should see it all working again.

Plug it back in, without actually fitting it first, just to make sure it works.

I done mine last year and it's been fine ever since 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.
