I bet they were Yeovil, Taunton LR and Matford - all the same company - Helson Motor Group. Who did you deal with at Yeovil - I can always nip round the corner and give them a kick Try Barnstable LR, I have dealt with them and they were even willing to sort my NFU membership out so that I could get the discount - 18 months ago mind. Interestingly I was in my dealers y'day - likely I am chopping my 09 90XS for a 110 XS Utility. He is quoting £29k for the new car, inc tow bar/ electrics. This is XS spec (Boosts/ heated seats/ screen/ ABS etc.). I may add a couple of bits (chequer plate on wing tops/ siderunners etc.) but £29k for the truck with tow bar. There may be some cheaper dealers I suppose, but he's local, this will be the 4th car I've bought from them so I know them/ they know me, they always give excellent service and I'm happy Simon

Book price is £30.625 + your tow bar. 29K - doesn't seem much off to me, maybe that's the way it is at LR, but you are losing quite a bit also by trading in. Not being critical I understand convenience is more important than a few K for some. You can get 7K off an Audi book price through a broker. I was hoping to get at least 3-4 K off an XS..
When I get my money ready I will definitely put an advert up for a 110 that someone is going to trade in. Thanks for the info |

If it helps, when I bought my 110 XS USW in November last year, I paid £27,000, for a three month old car with 4k on the clock. I got £1500 off their asking price but they wouldn't budge further...!

Zagato - I make you right on all counts. As always it's a case of taking an easier option and paying a bit for that I guess?
Based on szracer's post, £2k more to get in to a new one is probably a fair enough price differential between zero miles and 4k? To be fair, if they had a used one which was just a few months old then I would take it, but they don't come up very often. VAT would be on top surely? I'd be surprised if you could get any 110 SW on the road for anything under £25 to £26K John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

Just to add to the debate, when I bought my 110XS CSW in May 2007 I paid just under £28k with met paint and the extra seats which were a £400 option. They also threw in mats and seat treatment etc.
Talking to my dealer over the past couple of weeks they is very little difference in price between new, ex demo and second hand due to the lack of decent second hand one on the market. Whilst he said discounts were more or less non existent and the waiting list is well over three months he has promised me a 'good deal' as a 'valued customer' We'll see ...... My 09 came from Paul at County LR in Barnstaple,, I order my new one (110 XS SW) early last November, from Riders, best deal about down here,, due in next week £29K is about the going rate for a Utilty XS, but can be got for nearer £28,, My new one lists at £32k plus, bare XS with SVX alloy upgrade,, But as i have know the sales manger down there since he came out of short trousers have a nice drink off that list John (JSG) would need to check, but seam to remember my May 07 110 SX, bare with tow pack, met paint and 7 seat option, was about £26750 As a point of interest, would not touch a broker, unless many 1000's cheaper,, I value my LR warranty,, not that (touch wood) that i have really needed it in the past !!! Interesting reading now you have "bumped" this thread MartinK - your plan to wait until the new financial year when targets have to be met and when the new reg runs out is a good plan. I did the same with mine and ended up getting a salesman's 110 XS for 28K with 96 miles on the clock! They ordered it in just to bump their figures up before April.
As MSE has said somewhere else before, it ain't easy haggling them down - this was a very good deal according to other dealers... I wonder if or how much 2.4's will hold there value against the 2.2's Perhaps they will put a few saved 2.4's into the last celebration models before the Defender finally bites the dust... |

Our 2007 XS SW was just shy of £28,000 new in May 2007. Nothing extra to bump up the price.
