Ken - in reply to your PM, you (indirectly) called me a Tosser. That's what I have a problem with.

We've debated the other issues before. If you break the law with a vehicle defect and get fined as a result, that's not the fault of the Police - the blame lies with you.

Whether you think the Police should be conducting traffic enforcement is another matter entirely.

Your point about not needing the Police if a loved one was killed in a collision is, frankly, ridiculous. What would you do instead - find the driver and break some bones? Get real, please...

Whinging and bitching on an internet forum won't change the way this country operates.

That's my last word on the subject - I don't wish to fall out with anyone or cause offence. I just don't like being branded a Tosser by someone who has never met me... Thumbs Up My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Well if the hat fits I'm entitled to my opinion and it wont change as yours wont as well so thats that.

I deal with Traffic on a daily basis so its an opinion they say theres so i'll say mine simple as that as i get some corkers Rolling with laughter

Agree totally about bitching on a forum waste of time, But please answer/consider this in the Seventies early Eighties we grew up with respect of the local bobby whats changed. I've seen old friends join up and they change overnight perhaps its only dealing with bad things taints the outlook or is it the bloody paperwork

I know slightly OT, my old man tells me when there were such things as 'dances' on a saturday night in the villages in the 60's, obviously before nightclubs etc, the village copper had to sort out any aggro (read pikeys and pizzed teenagers) solo. No radios for backup, no armed response etc

They HAD to command respect or they wouldn't have lasted 2 mins. Can't see those real coppers being too happy with the state of todays boys in blue. Well their not in blue anymore mostly some idiotic combat uniform, kevlar vests etc

Fiesta super sport or P5B.....

Is it the cops fault.

When I was a kid: If I played up I would get a clip across the back of the head, dragged home and then smacke by my mum... Wouldn'd do it again

Nowerdays: I played up.. cop can't do anything because it is child abuse/ assult.. then when a parent is told it is considered as bullying as little damien is a saint.... TOSH!!

How about we get rid of this Political Correctnes before anything else.

Very emotive issue. Personally I seriously begrudge giving anything to the robbers I mean goverment, so I try my best to stick to the limits even if nobody else does (M40 for example). But sometimes even being well within the limit is too fast. I'm doing my class 2 LGV at the moment and it REALLY opens your eyes! A truck was coming towards me doing about 25 but due to the situation he was going too fast!
One that really gets me is folks who don't know that there are lower limits on the motorway when towing, and I think very few van drivers know lower limits apply to them. (also applies to Defenders now)
My first car was a series 3 diesel, so speed has never held much of an appeal for me Twisted Evil 2011 110 USW

Couple of years ago over hear a police car stopped a tourist from mainland Europe owing to some very erratic driving. When the boys in blue got to the offending driver's car his female passenger suddenly appeared out of his lap where she had been doing something "nice" to him. Seems he was finding it hard to keep the car on the straight and narrow as his concentration was elsewhere but there was no excess speed involved. The rather bemused boys in blue just had some verbals with the couple. Would have loved to have seen the official report if it had gone that far! Got that from the boys in blue themselves. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

A Kerry senior citizen, 76, drove his brand new BMW convertible out of the dealership.
Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left.
'Amazing,' he thought as he flew down the Killarney road, pushing the pedal even more.
Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a Garda car behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring.
He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120.
Suddenly he thought, 'What am I doing? I'm too old for this,' and pulled over to await the Garda's arrival.
Pulling in behind him, the Garda walked up to the BMW, looked at his watch and said,
'Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go.'

The old gentleman paused. Then said, 'Years ago, my wife ran off with a Garda. I thought you were bringing her back.'
'Have a good day, Sir' replied the Garda
