Go get legal advice.
A while ago I got pulled for speeding (1.4 Rover at the time). I was doing 89mph up hil with 2 passengers an luggage.... my point was that i knew 100% I couldn't have been doing that speed.... but I was probably doing 65mph so my missus at the time said 'Just take it on the chin' So I did... 3 points and £60. 6 months later I had a knock on my door. I was arrested and granted bail as long as I agree to go court. I did and was 'officially convicted' of... Driving without a license, no MOT, no TAX, and speeding.. How do I plead? I replied that I admit to the speeding but the rest was wrong.... They wanted to get the speeding out of the first so asked for my license and £60....I pointed out that I already had the points and paid the money.. which kicked up a stink.... in the end I showed all my paperwork and they were still being arsey asking for a copy of the back of the £60 cheque. I then got a local lawyer involved who made a couple of phone calls, wrote a letter an the court then said 'Fair is fair'... CPS had to pick up all the bills for court etc. Moral of the story.... Seek legal advice before trying to do anything!!! Glyn |

But you couldnt live without em.
Just food for thought, but If a loved one got knocked down by a speeding motorist then im sure we would all want the police to prosecute them. Ive had two lots of 3pts for speeding, and think I got flashed the other day by a camera. Each time ive just taken it on the chin as I know I was in the wrong. We all speed, I do it every single day. But if caught then why not just pay up? We all just seem to want to get away with it and blame the police for not catching burglars instead. Rant over But to answer the op's question, then perhaps if the ticket was made out incorrectly then you may have a technical defence? |

Sorry War Pig totally disagree, I could easily live without them.
I grew up to respect the local bobby but now they are a bunch of tossers who bring their own opinions to cloud their judgement. plenty of fines in my FFRR for black n silver plates my answer as always oh well one bottle of wine less tonight then. Plenty of times for the firearms chaps probably the least opinionated of the group I shoot quite regularly with them. As for a speeding tosser running one of my loved ones down well pity that fool. |

an emotive subject for sure. The big issue of course, most law abiding people (would say citizen but we are subjects) involvement with the police is for victim less crimes - minor traffic infringements. Needless to say as its a made up 'crime' to extract cash it tends to off right minded people. Add an obnoxious public servant into the mix and its easy to see why plod gets a bad press.
I would like to see these victim less crimes removed from the police and gives to HMCE where they belong. It would do plod the power of good, think of all that time they would have to spend of real crimes which have victims. Would save a fortune as well, no longer any need for 50k cars for them. Pom |
