Small update, starter was playing up so changed and working well, bought Fabsil protective coating for soft top and treated it differece is unbelievable.

Job for tomorrow is to swap out some dash bits and spend a little time on making some interior improvements. Weather was good today so enjoyed having a working and road legal Defender for a change.

Just a small update, was using up some annual leave and cracking weather so thought i would spend some time on trying to further improve interior, unfortunately things are being done on a budget at the minute Big Cry so its whatever i can salvage or use of bits i have lying about.

Sorry about photos was playing about with photo editing app plus didnt want to make post to pic heavy Whistle

Interior was in a sorry state pretty mankey plus dash corner piece completely rotten, split in top dash etc. managed to get second hand dash top and corner.

SA80 gun racks had to go just at wrong height for hitting shoulders off when jumping in and knocking elbows off when turning to look over your shoulder. Tray fitted in between seats, had some old Range Rover Matts which i cut to fit footwells (kinda) and cut inserts for tray so that fixing bolts couldnt be seen, oh yeh gave dash a good clean also, it came up well

Laycorn storage boxes in rear, full of bits of kit i will hopefully not need to much, jump leads, fuses, easy start, grease, spare bulbs etc.

Had time so took the Dog out for a spin, again playing about with photo editing, but i like this pic Whistle

That is a very purposeful looking 110 Thumbs Up Lovely Landy!

I think the lights look nice, the black light surrounds could probably go. MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

No other modifications made as yet a few minor things on list, small interior tweaks, black wing top plastics possibly a snow cowl who knows. Just enjoying having a decent road legal Defender for a while. 1993 Defender 110 Ex Military soft top, with a long wishlist already

Opinions and advice please

Im caught in two minds, i am considering selling my 110 it just doesnt get any use but then again it doesnt really cost me anything either apart from around £50 per month for tax and insurance.

I also have an oppurtunity to buy a knackered old discovery with a good 200tdi engine in it and was wondering if it would be worthwhile dropping it into my 110 in terms of adding any value if i decided to sell.

So dilemma is

***Sell as standard ex mod 110 (with standard wheels) or spend the time and money converting to 200tdi to add to sale price if i put it up for sale? ***

Has anyone a rough idea what would be a fair asking or comparative price for standard against 200tdi fitted so i can try to make a decision.

Having a quick scan on internet and military vehicle sites and knowing the condtion of chassis bulkead etc i reckon £6000 to £6500 no VAT would be in the ballpark is a 200tdi engine upgrade going to add to that?

1993 110 soft top, 100k km s power steering fitted, disc brake rear axle, due MOT but will put through and carry out any necessary work before sale.

The other option would be to convert to 200tdi and keep it, im major stressing over what should be a simple decision please help! "I used to be indecisive but now im not so sure" Very Happy

Thanks Thumbs Up 1993 Defender 110 Ex Military soft top, with a long wishlist already

I would put the 200 tdi engine in and keep it, the reason is that with that engine in you would use it more and then more Thumbs Up The only thing is that if you decide to sell it, originality will always sell better and get good money Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Love the look of the 305s on the wheels.

What are the specs of the wheels for both the 305 and the 265?

Thank you

Welcome on board, Ephry73. Unfortunately, I doubt you'll get a reply to your question I'm afraid as Lucifus hasn't posted here since 2016. Darren

That’s what I was afraid of. Good looking truck for sure. May mimic the wheel and tire setup for sure.
