Steering damper nut/bolt
Just being a big lazy really (well it is Sunday)......

Does anyone know the dimensions and/or part number of the bolt (or set screw to be more precise?) that fixes the steering damper to the chassis?

About to fit a new OEM damper first and then finally get round to fitting the steering guard. They've been in the garage on the 'to do' list for some time, and I've got a bit of free time next week.

Thanks in advance,

Will[/i]

The damper to chassis is a threaded pin on the damper and bushes and two nuts (1 a lock nut) to fix to chassis

The lock nuts are AFU4214 or QYH500120

The other end, damper to drag link, is a bolt (screw) and nut.

A new boxed damper should come with the chassis end bushes and nuts but not usually the drag link bolt.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

That's spot on Martin. Thank you very much Thumbs Up

Yes all of the washers, bushes and nuts for the 'stud' end (the chassis end) are in the box, however the drag link bolt/screw and nut aren't - as you suggested.

Thanks for the info/spec for the latter Martin - very much appreciated. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It's a good job you told me it was a mirror image as I'd zoomed in on the thread and was going to buy a left hand thread! Rolling with laughter

Cheers,

Will
