Having trouble finding suitable transmission oils for my 1999 110. The usual suspects shrug their shoulderswhen I mention MTF.

LR do it...genuine article though may cast approx. £50 for 5 litres but that's enough for two changes so it becomes £25 per refil

Personally I use the Fuchs alternative will drag out the details of it tomorrow. Never been a fan of MTF94. I find it ruins the shifts and if you sample it the wear rates are terrible. Worse than running ATF ironically

As you're in high Wycombe, speak to dingocroft. I'm pretty certain they sourced it for me last time I needed it. |

Given that LR are so adamant that it should only be MTF94, how do you know that the fuchs stuff is definitely good for the box? Genuine question, I don't like the shifting on my (refurb) r380 at the moment. |

Things have moved on a little since 1998
I sample oils as we have an oil lab in work so makes sense to me. The wear rates with MTF are not the best by any means. This is just my findings. I'm not saying don't use it, just that there are better lubricants for similar and sometimes less money. Fuchs Titan sintofluid 75 80 is just my preference. Just my 2p worth... |

I too am interested in hearing more Fatboy Slim I've been using the LR MTF94 for some time with no issues, other than cost and occasional availability, however I am keen to embrace change as long as it is for the better. Fuchs products are excellent, and as long as the spec is spot on then I can't see why it shouldn't be a bonafide alternative. Looking forward to hearing more |
