Momentarily losing power 2.2
I have a strange issue where my 2.2 is losing power for just a fraction of a second when only lightly applying throttle. It never happens under load but only when you are frying to maintain about 60km/h on a slight decline. So just very light throttle.
It loses power for just the tinyest amount of time and then power surges with a big clunk in the drive train and back to normal. The whole process taking just a fraction of a second.
It has always done this but I think it may be getting worse. Or I'm taking more notice of it, I'm not sure which.
It doesn't matter where you get the diesel but for the record I only get diesel from reputable fuel mongers.

Any suggestions other than haul it back to the dealer?

Is it reproducible in these special situations, does she always do it? Do you notice black smoke from exhaust while she does it or can you check for it next time? Can you check for stored DTC's as well?

It's easily reproducible alright. Haven't checked for black smoke but will do. As the exhaust point straight back it mightn't be easy to see unless there's a ton of smoke.
Will check if there are any codes logged as well.

I've got exactly the same with mine, and agree its always done it but it seems to be getting worse lately.

I've spoken with the dealer and agreed to let it develop a little further. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

I also have exactly the same problem on a 2015 puma. Also seems to very slowly be getting worse. Interestingly, when I disconected the battery for a few hours, for the first 500 miles or so after reconnecting I didn't notice it happening. I complained about it on the first 12000 mile service and the technicians found nothing wrong, but told me they updated the software on the ecu to try and fix it. It didn't.

The mrs double cab 2015 MY does the same, I thought it was just me being used to driving the td5, I'll bring it up at the next service. Ray

I have exactly the symptoms on our 2012 130 2.2 and our 2016 110 2.2

Be interested if anyone gets a fix, this looks like a developing fault. 1951 80" S1 2.0

My 15MY 110 does the same thing while in 6th gear with light throttle.

The dealer said there were no fault codes stored in the ECU so I figure it's just a quirky map at low fuel demand.
Once it's out of warranty I will get it re mapped or buy heavier boots...

It's not like turbo lag it just feels like the engine stops for a split second. Ray

Yap. I feel that I could have that problem, too. In some special situations - as indicated above - my engine reacts some kind of "laggy". When power comes up again a "clonk" is quite likely ... Confused

I've learned to avoid this lag. Everything depends on the gas pedal.

It's the variable turbocharger geometry I suppose ... folding together ...

I have the same problem too on the 130. Be interested to know if anyone has had a dealer look into this?

I think i have seen the same and thought it was a fueking issue.

Now that i either use a premium diesel or standard deisel with Millers i can't say i have noticed it for a long time.

Pretty sure my 2015 does the same thing and has done since new.

I had always put it down to bad fuel mapping at that particular point in the throttle/load/fuel map.

Best description I can give is it just hesitates for a split second then jolt/clunk it catches up with itself.

Its due its first service in a couple of weeks so will mention it then, maybe they can be talked into giving me the 150PS Autobiography tune Very Happy -2015 Defender 90 XS Landmark-

I always put vpower diesel in the 130, so wouldn't have thought it would be that?

As toby9946 says, maybe the fuel map?
