The horn blows to tell you a door or bonnet isn't closed properly so one of the pin switches on any of the doors or bonnet may be corroded or unplugged and not registering being closed Ray

Yep, a mislock. I've got the exact same issue with my puma, I've already checked all of the door switches and bonnet switch with no joy. Very frustrating, as the alarm has a mind of its own.
When I bought the car the previous owner had bypassed the horn rather than sort the fault! I'm guessing it might be the Lucas 10as alarm module, as the interior lights go haywire at the same time. If all else fails, a quick diagnostic can show the alarm event history. From reading other threads about this, dirty switch contacts can be a really common culprit. Let us know how you get on! |

I'm not sure what I have done but it all appears to be working fine again. I just fiddled around with the door lock and fingers crossed the door closes fine and the alarm works fine. Thanks all

I had some intermittent issues with mine also, took the switches out and gave em a good clean and made sure the seals were sitting right, no problems for loooong time since.
They're pretty cheap as spares too, as a matter of fact I never got round to installing new ones ... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

Mine did this after I adjusted the passenger door so it shut tighter, I slackened it off a bit and then it was fine again.

All too familiar. I had it with my Disco and it was the bonnet switch and the Puma does it if the door/bonnet not closed properly. It can seem annoying, but a good reminder that the door / bonnet isn't closed properly! 2015 Defender 110 XS Utility Santorini Black, sawtooth alloys, steps and so much more...........

Nuke the car from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
(Still haven't isolated the fault, 2 months after it started) |
