Serpentine belt change
What's the milage or time limit before the main serpentine belt on the 2.4 Puma is scheduled to be changed? I think it's some ridiculously high milage but I can't find the details. Thanks. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

120.000 miles/200.000 km (maintenance check sheet.)

Changed mine at 170.000 km because of chirping noise. But still looked good, no cracks.

Changed mine at 97000 miles for the same chirping noise, but mine did show tiny cracks in the vees. A lot of people say this is a good indicator of it needing to be changed. Still wouldn't leave it as long as 120000 though Shocked

That is what you call "Having faith in your component." Wish all the parts on the Defender had that expected level of performance and reliability Whistle

Mine was replaced at 72,000 miles on a 2008 truck. It was cracked and chirped a bit when cold. Tdci 110 DC

Wales 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Alpine White
I'm sitting just over 85 000km with a slightly cracking belt and some chirping.
Been waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive in Maun!
They only have 7PK2958 in stock.
Have had to borrow an even older belt incase of emergency...
Can someone please confirm that it is a 7PK3001 belt?

PQS500610 is for vehicles without and PQS500600 for vehicles with aircondition.

Both numbers you mentioned are for vehicles with aircondition, insofar the same dimension.

Btw, its easy to find out if you search the internet... Thumbs Up

Thanks hornet for those part numbers Thumbs Up are these for the 2.2 2012 onwards?
But that just caused more confusion on this side...
The local LR still can't give me a part number Whistle

I've been told that 7PK3001 means
7 is for the grooves in the pulleys &
3001 is the length in millimeters?

Hence why the 2958 was just too short (I was concerned that the belt had stretched that much)

Mine was changed after 200,000 km. only for safety (was in good shape).
The second one last only 60,000 km but due other issues.

Cheers Eduardo

2958 mm is the genuine length that turns out for PQS500600. I guess that a 3001 mm belt can be used with no problem because it's only ~13.7 mm in diameter difference which would be equalized through spanner. And yes, I could not find differences between 2.4 and 2.2 engines when consulting relevant sources like http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1235/3714/4215/330
In any case I would recommend to use a quality brand! Conti for example recommends 120.00km for a change (75.000 miles).

HTH!
