Puma engine oil service......by mileage, yearly or mix?
Who does what I'm wondering.
Had the Puma for a year but only done about 4k miles. 95% long journies where it was thoroughly warmed up and run.
Did more miles with 300TDi and TD5 I had but serviced them by mileage only, with no problems. All other cars I've owned were serviced by mileage, again no problems.
Cheers.

Most motors with same engine [Transit etc] are on a 20,000 mile or two yearly oil change regime.

So up to you ... personally I change my oil and filter yearly, even though like you I only cover about 4 or 5 thousand miles a year.

You can't change it too often, but can leave it too late .... Thumbs Up Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

I do mine every year too, It gets a good clean and service soon after the end of the shooting season. I only do about 3K a year but think it is worth doing anyway.

+1.

Under 10k miles/annum (on 30,000 miles and nearly 5 years old)

Now got a Femco drain plug, so it's so easy.

Costs around £50 I guess for oil & filter, but worth it for peace of mind Thumbs Up Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Yep annually on mine too.
It's 5 years old and only done 16k, but for the cost it's a no brainer Thumbs Up

Annually or before 10K miles.. The oil is as black as a black thing in Blacksville, with the lights out, on a foggy day at night!!!!

I do about 3 k per year but still do the annual change if I did more miles I would change at about 6k but expect upto 12k would be fine, not expensive using castrol when on offer at Asda and a quick job. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy
