You'll need more than 1/2 a day to see the whole show. If you have never done one they are well worth going. It's wall to wall LandRover.

I did Peterborough for first time last year , 3 hour drive for me , having been to Billing for goodness how many times , Peterborogh is well worth it.
IMHO it's a freindler show and much more going on , having it at a purpose built show ground is a bonus as the Areana is a good place to sit and rest whilst watching the challenge trucks etc I would suggest that you do it , even for one time , I think you'll enjoy it. I loved it and shifts depending I'll be there this year |

We went last year for first time in a long time and it a really good day out. We arrived mid morning on the Sunday and got the impression some stand were already packing up, but still good day. Lots of stands, good things going on in the ring, winching, Bowler's etc. But it will add to you Defender shopping list! James

I would say be brave and camp and go for both days. It is a great show by all accounts, I am there every year but never get to stray of our patch of grass
Could you not take the dogs with you? It is a very dog friendly show and lots of people take them along. We always have water down which I point out to owners of cute or pretty dogs. regards Barbara |

I wish we could. One of our dogs is an elderly great dane. She gets along fine with dogs, but can be aggressive towards strangers. She has never bitten anyone and we want to keep it that way. Our other dog is too friendly. He wants to play with everyone and everything. There is no off switch and he would be barking non-stop. They are both rescues. We are fine with them but they were clearly too much to handle for the people that gave them up. |

the show is dog friendly
you will need more the half a day to see it all well worth the trip a lot of the traders take card machines but the smaller stands only take cash much better than other lr shows for soooo many reasons if you have a road car then you wont worry about your lr being stolen plenty of hotels and food places nearby at fair rates but need to book early |

Our road car is a Nissan LEAF with the older smaller 24kWh battery. The LEAF could get us there but it would take too long. I've done 250 all-electric miles in a day before and don't really want to do it again. Next March, we will have one of the new bigger battery cars and driving long distances will be far more practical.
I found a good inexpensive hotel, so that is solved. Unfortunately, we need to leave in time to be home Saturday evening. That means heading back to Anglesey around 2 or3 PM. Last edited by Andrew*Debbie on 8th Aug 2016 8:46am. Edited 1 time in total |

It's well worth a five hour drive, many travel from overseas for this show, my only concern for you would be managing to get round the show in half a day, try to make a weekend of it if you can, you'll be hooked! 2006 TD5110 station wagon

We went for the first time last year. Our friend who we went with has been going on and off for a few years now. He said that after the first few years, going every year doesn't seem so important - unless you have a big purchase in mind or specifically want to see something.
Personally, we had a great time, couldn't recommend it enough and will hopefully be going this year again. To be honest, considering your distance to drive, the dogs, the amount of time you will have the show, I'd save your money and I wouldn't bother going. If the traffic is snarled up, you could have even less time to look round - and it does take most of a day to do the show justice. We are quite lucky and our dogs go to my parents when we go out - Doggy Daycare |

I went for the first time last year, i was well impressed with it all, you will need more than half a day to look around, i drove up and back in a day from Devon, didnt allow for the accident on the M6 on the way back and that took an extra hour, finally got home about 11pm as i left home about 5.30am. When i go again i will be stopping over night somewhere 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
