Nice motor
Would fancy the NAS step when you come to part with it, suppose it will fit the 90? Jeff Ex 1968 Series 2A Ex 90 TD5 Ex D3 Ex D4 |

Martin,
Anyway of safely securing a drop plate towbar to the NAS step or should I go OEM and bolt straight to the crossmember? |

It's my new/old work vehicle so it needs to look smart but also be practical. Wheels & tyres, probably 285/75 R16 KO2 BFG's. Carpet the rear as it's been cut out. Replacement rear door card which I'm on the hunt for. Some better speakers so I can hear the radio. Either get a paintless repair company to get the small dents out of the rear tub, HT sides or replace.... New bumper Drop plate tow bar. Some more light, especially for reversing. Replace the seats with potentially premium LR. Treat the chassis. Steering guard Any plenty of other small little things. |

I'm pretty sure I have seen a thread on here with a slider (Dixon Bate?) on a NAS step.

I did but I had to do some modification to holes and had some bespoke support arms made up to secure the bottom part, not shown in this picture. But it is sold as a rock. Click image to enlarge Pulls the van in comfort Click image to enlarge |

Thanks for the info Jimz.
The length of the drop plate needed will depend on which size tyres I fit, I'm between 265's or 285's..... the old debate. I'll probably go with something like this which won't require any bracing http://www.barlowtrailers.co.uk/Dixon-Bate...n-DB202117 130 TDCI High Capacity Pick up D250 SE HT 110 Hybrid LWT on RR chassis, 3.5 v8 |

Agree, spent last night fitting a handsfree kit along with replacing all the blown bulbs on the dash, I could have spent all night happily doing it, I suppose that's why I drive a LR. 130 TDCI High Capacity Pick up D250 SE HT 110 Hybrid LWT on RR chassis, 3.5 v8 |

From memory (so double check) from but reading previous threads on here, I think the 150mm Dixon Bate has the correct hole pattern to fit the rear tow step without any modification. (the 100mm and 200mm have a different pattern)

Nice looking motor. 👍 Without causing great debate I would bolt straight to the crossmember and forget the nas. Nas look to have a history of cracking when worked. I'm sure plenty don't but personally I couldn't be doing with the "what if mine does".

Interesting John, never heard of one cracking. I have been thinking of getting rid of the NAS step, but time will tell if I do a lot of towing with this vehicle, if so it'll be swapped out. 130 TDCI High Capacity Pick up
