If it was brand new, why did it cost £1k/month in repairs? It would have been under warranty surely..?

I've had Discos since the series 1 (8 or 9 now), and apart from the early ones, which had quite a few gearbox issues, all the more modern ones have had zero problems. The current D4 is a dream car, it does everything from the exec limo through furniture removal van to mud plugger with ease. By far the best car I've had.

Had D3 for a few years no problems and had a 10 plate D4 from new no problems and it's done over 100 thousand
In my opinion the freeby2 and Disco4 are the best motors Land Rover have made. Bow down

I have owned 1 D3 which had 110000 miles on when I sold it and am on my third D4. In between I occasionally have tried other cars Audi / Mercedes. They don't come close to a D4.
It really does everything - tow car, motorway cruiser, go anywhere car.
Apart from minor issues all of mine have even reliable.

I had a D3 for 3 years/30k miles with only a failing door lock. I had a D4 Landmark as a courtesy car a few weeks back and had an issue and had to call out LR Assist and the chap said he saw very few issues with them.

Had D3 and D4 for years, best cars I have ever had but no longer doing the mileage to justify it. It all depends how you drive it and look after it. Never had any problems other than normal maintenance.

I had a D3 and D4 both approved used from LR and they were both a disaster. They were used for the school run and as family cars, were maintained to the schedule and both had long lists of issues, the D4 had a secondary turbo replaced and was traded in with an unresolved electrical problem. When going they were great but - best cars we've had, but when you lose confidence and get sick of the taste of delaership coffee its time to move on. Unlucky maybe.

I had a D3 for 8 years and 60,000 miles with no real problems other than consumables. It was without doubt the best car I have ever owned as it was so practical and pretty much unstoppable off road and in the snow.

Our new D4 has had a couple of niggles

All under warranty but a bit annoying, kept braking by itself and dealer couldn't replicate it and told me I must be mistaken

Only when I showed them a video did they believe me.

Brilliant car though

After a couple of new D3/D4s thinking New XC90 next time

I've done about a quarter of a million miles in various disco's culminating in my brand new D4 , all at the expense of :-
1xwaterpump
1xreardoor actuator

Not too bad me thinks Oh woe, oh woe
