bulkhead for 300tdi
hi, was wondering if anyone could tell me if a brand new bulkhead would fit on my 300tdi as there are some for sale for 750 brand new, I realise they wont have air vents in but im ok with that,
was just wondering if dash would fit off my 300tdi? anyone done it or similar? Very Happy

On a whole, yes it will fit - other than the vents its identical on the exterior surfaces and its structural connection's.

Will still need a little modification though -

Recirculation vent in passenger footwell,
No vents but most of the brackets are still there.
Gearbox tunnel needs removing and r380 tunnel fixings adding
Dash mounts are mostly the same but will need tweaking (top mounts under windscreen are the same)
Wiper motor is in a different position.
There is a cutout in the RH footwell (2.2 dpf cutout) so the clutch bracket overhangs and misses a fixing (easy fix with a puma clutch pedal, or just leave it...)
The heater fan hole (between motor/matrix and the dash) is slightly different so will need opening up.
Oh and the heater matrix is inside the cab on a puma so that hole needs plugging and the one in the centre will need plating over. (I have made a gland plate for the original loom that bolts in place for easy removal)

Lots of little jobs but nothing too hard. Probably best not to buy a galvanised one, but to get it done afterwards.

Good luck

It is a long short but they were still welding up bulkheads at the factory in January that had vent holes as well as ones without. Is your source only able to get them without vent holes?
And the price of bulkheads seem unchanged from 1987 when I got a price for a Series III one. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

I bought two new bulkheads with vents two months ago. Mfg date on the door posts was 2016.

They seem to be a strange hybrid with the wiring loom holes and heater holes being for a puma though. I bought a previous one last November and it was a correct late td5 one

They were approx £1200 each. I bought two while they were still available.
