Diesel tank leak
I have a 2011 Defender 90 hardtop with a Puma 2.4 engine. Got it as a demo vehicle at about 2.5k miles - now has 30k miles on the clock and no hard work apart from occasionally towing an Ifor Williams twin axle trailer with one of my classic Massey Ferguson tractors. Never have had a problem - love it to bits!

However recently I have noticed a diesel leak somewhere around the fuel tank - staining down the side of the tank and some diesel deposit on the ground. This was after filling the tank to the top (not over-filling as I always stop at the first "cut-off") and I have always filled the tank like this. The filler hose from the aperture to the tank is not the problem. Where could the leak be coming from? Over recent days with the fuel level down somewhat, I am not seeing any staining on the ground. Is there some form of vent aperture that could allow diesel to escape? Is there a fuel pump at the rear end which might be leaking?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum and the 'I have a leaking fuel tank club'... Shocked

It may or may not be the breather hose...but if I was a betting man... Thumbs Up
