Rear wheel carrier
Hello, I am soon to have a Defender '06 with a rear NAS bar/step and want to fit a rear wheel carrier to relieve the rear door.
Some people have mentioned that there will be a compatibility issue with the two....

Can anyone recommend a rear wheel carrier that will work with the NAS bar and will this fully relieve the issues of the spare wheel distorting the rear door or will it just distort the rear panel instead?

thanks
Ross

might be a bit naive of me, but I've never once seen a image of a door damaged by a wheel? is this a myth ?
(i also run a lot heavier wheel / tire combo than a standard boost alloy.. no damage after 4 years)

to answer your question i think the nakatenga one fits but its not cheap... possibly the safari equip one too

I have a Mantec carrier and a genuine Land Rover nas step, no problems fitting or operating

It's not fancy and the bearings won't fail.

Rear doors do fail under the weight of a spare wheel - especially if you "supersize" the wheels...

Any chance of a picture to see how this works?
The NAS rear step of mine is a Britpart.

Nakatanenga wheel carrier fits with the NAS step.

Does not require the bodywork drilling, is made from stainless, version for both pre 02 and post 02 models .

Bought, used and recommended by many Defender 2 members.
