Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
A word of warning Shaggydog about micro battery car starters.

First they are really good for most applications charging laptops phones even supplying power to pump up air beds while camping but there is a but and that is even the 18000mAh versions can struggle to turn over a diesel engine with a totally flat battery, if the battery has some power but not enough to crank the engine you may get away with a boost from a micro set up.

I have a RoyPow 18000mAh Heavy Duty micro charger that I have used on my wife’s BMW Mini and on a Clio and both have been started, but used on my Defenders with a totally flat battery they only manged to turn the engine over twice, very slowly then they gave up.

The trouble is they are designed to turn over engines with low compressions such as petrol engines. On a cold morning with a diesel lump with 22-1 or so compression and a dead flat battery they struggle.
If you do purchase one make sure it will start a Land Rover diesel, otherise all you will have is a portable laptop charger. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Judging by the teardown videos on Youtube, work out the cranking amps you need, multiply by 4-5 and then buy one with that rating.

Thanks Guys Thumbs Up

The problem left with the Td5 as a Tdi can be started in about 6ft whereas a td5 is a lot more hassle due to its electrical nature.

Very interesting reading though Thumbs Up Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Sealey RS103 for me. Had it years and it's fantastic. Will easily run an Engel for a couple of nights. My Disco 'best bits'
