That is definitely the right part number fits both the 2.4 and 2.2.
These are the measurements of the filter The spigot centre hole, both top and bottom should measure 29 mm The diameter of the filter 64 mm The height of the filter 69 mm Man say it fits 2.4 from MY05/7 For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Ok, I dug the vernier calipers, remembered how to read them and did some measuring.
All the dims are as you say above on the new filter. But the old filter is different in one measurement, ithas a 25mm, not 29mm, bore. It's the old filter that's fits nicely and new one is loose. Am confused |

Can anyone recall when they have fitted a filter into the screw on lid does it sit snugly in the middle or can it be moved side to side?

The filter I have taken out is Purflux l358a, which has a 24mm bore, but is a cross reference with the Mann but that has a 29mm bore?????
Any help would be appreciated. I think I might need to declare the car off the road until I can get a genuine Land Rover filter. |

Going to get a proper genuine filter tomorrow, don't want take a risk with something that doesn't seem right.
There's a photo here with the Mann on the left and Purflux on the right. It's not that clear but I think you can see that the bores are noticeably different Click image to enlarge |

I've used bearmach filters and haven't had any problems with them.
They fit quite snug as far as I can remember. |

Bought a Ford one today, Fitted snug like the Purflux one. Will avoid the Mann one in future.
