Sorry, more suspension questions. I think I know what brands I'm going for in this department but as I will only be using main road and motorway and not towing, what spring weight should I be looking for, for a fairly comfortable ride? They can be seen listed as light, medium or heavy duty.

I would stick with the std landrover springs for your requirements 2004 TD5 Defender 90 xs station wagon

If you don't want to 'stiffen' it up, If you don't want to lift it up, and it you dont want to change It's ride height ... then the advice from johnszs is the best you'll get - leave springs as standard and just replace shocks Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
