Two guys flew up 'on behalf of their boss' from Manchester to Aberdeen today, told me 'my steering wheel was worn', and that he 'thought my 90 must be clocked cos it's only showing 43k'. I pointed out it's 12MY Defender - average about 10k per year, so pretty much bang on. Also has had one MOT and the mileage is recorded etc.

He then tried to 'do me a favour' and take it off my hands for 14k 'cos he'd made the effort to fly up'.

I told him it was HPI clear, I drive 50 miles a day in it, the dings and scratches are mentioned in the advert (I always believe in being very honest) and that he must be joking for wasting my time.

Tried once more 'to do me a favour' and then left to get a flight back.

Aaaaaaargh!

Well I've see a fair few defender running around Aberdeen the last couple of days, but I can't believe they (2 of them at that) flew up for nothing and didn't ask any additional questions or for extra pics if there was something they were unsure about.
I know flights from London to Aberdeen have gotten cheaper lately but still it's about £200 a pop. So that about £400 they wasted to know a £1K off! Russell

There was definitely something up - they didn't ask for a test drive, commented on really random stuff like the steering wheel(??). There was loads of stuff in the description on the ad that they talked about as if they'd just spotted it. To be honest, I think they were just on a jolly on the bosses money!

I'd taken a mate with me from work to give me a lift back if it sold, and when we got back to the office, he said 'I haven't seen someone that dodgy looking for a long time!'

Frustrating as a total waste of my time, and their bosses money!
