I'd use Land Rover ones, but the Bearmach ones will probably be OK.
The gasket between the hinge and bulkhead pillar and spacers between the hinge and door are both factory. The latter adjusts the in/out position of the door to get it flush with the bulkhead pillar. |

Sounds good. Genuine Parts on order.
I think I'll give the £0.36 Britpart ones a miss. I like doors that stay on. |

A quick search found the part number for the nuts.
WA138480, superseded by BYH500100. Rimmer Bros. says BYH500100 no longer available, use LR055527. Genuine Land Rover part. This is the photo they have for the part: This is what arrived today: Click image to enlarge I wonder if these were used in production? Could be some 2.2Puma owners will be in for a surprise when it is time to replace the door hinges. These are going to be harder to use. Still not sure exactly how I'm going to get them in place. Maybe I can use one of the door bolts to hold the plate. Unbolt the hinge from the door side too, put the one bolt through and then unscrew my "handle" bolt. Might be able to use a magnetic tool. On the plus side, these should last longer than the old style captive not. Anyone used these ??? I could use a suggestion or two. Should I send them back and get the Bearmach parts. Those are the nut plates for the second row doors on a 110 or 130 SW, USW, or DC. They won't help you at all for the front doors.
You need (I think) ASR1459 |

Yup.
Just sent an email to Rimmer Bros. customer service. Fingers crossed the return will be painless. |

So did I. ASR1459 is superseded by BYH500100 on most vendor's websites. On Rimmer Bros. Genuine LR BYH5000100 is no longer available and they say to use that 2nd row door nut plate. Rimmer Bros are actually correct with their part numbers - the last few months of defender production went back to the captive nut plates LR055527 for the front bulkhead. |

But the question remains, how do you fit the second row nut plate to the bulkhead.
There's no access from the back! BYH500100 seem to be available from (literally) everywhere else except Rimmer 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

At some time in the future a few people are going to be in for a surprise. I should see if I can manage to fit the part. With some corrosion protection, the nut plates should last a very long time. I've got a couple of magnetic parts grabbers that might work. Maybe. Or I can try ordering the Bearmach parts. I probably should anyway as a backup. You may well find that the price quoted for the genuine is for a UOM greater than 1, whilst the Bearmach price is for a single one.
Quite often if it is a small part, LR supply (for example) packs of 10, and the redistributor price lists from places like LRDirect and Brit-Car don't seem to identify this. Alternatively it may simply be a huge rip-off! |
