Well I personally believe the "leave" decision was a mistake.
There does not appear to have been enough thought put into the leave process, how it would evolve & what the process would actually be, and whilst obviously people have had reason to make their decision, I do not believe that there was a full realization of what the unwinding consequences may be,....and there are many.
However, as a member has said, I live in Aussie, so maybe I ain't fully aquainted with the facts.
So, without a lot of "wafflery & rhetoric", perhaps someone could detail in bullet point form, maybe the six main reasons for Brexit?
Pickles.

Signs like that are absolutely disgusting and hopefully the perpetrators will be prosecuted on racial hatred grounds.

Where we used to be located the mill had Polish workers, extremely polite, extremely nice and extremely hard working.

The only people I saw at that mill complex actively looking for work canvassing the local companies were Polish. I never saw the local white unemployed people actively looking for work at the mill complex.

While racism is unforgivable, let's not connect it with either campaign.

There are racists on both sides.

sure, but looking at the breakdown of the Leave vote: poorer areas with less educated and/or older people

Throwing stones and glass houses come to mind? Who exactly do you think you are and what qualifies you to blindly theorise or place anyone in a racist category 'in any words' let alone 'iow?' Apart from the fact you have much much more of it to deal with which is prevalent and rife in your own back yard apparently?

One thing we all need to understand perhaps is that not only did we vote to leave the EU but arguably because of the reaction by our MP’s it is appearing that we voted to throw democracy out of the window as well.

It should now be made clear to all the MP’s who are plotting to veto, block or reverse the decision of the referendum that they are elected into a democratic government, to adhere to the will of the peoples majority (no matter how small) and where they are only representatives of an electorate who have voted to leave in its majority. It seems to me that our MP’s are ignoring that fact and still have their own self interests at heart, or maybe not one of the doubters are not up to the job of governing this country without the help of the EU, let’s face after a short while they will have no one to blame for any mistakes except themselves, no more excuses such as our hands are tied with Brussels bureaucracy.

It should also be noted that there are only a handful of our politicians left who were elected at a time when we were a self-governing country and maybe the majority of our MP’s are frightened at the prospect of self rule, If that is the case I suggest that they slide into their many well paid consultancies and leave the way clear for new members of parliament that are up to the challenge of the job. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

That has to be one of the most stupid comments I've ever had the misfortune to read on this forum.

Pickles - I wouldn't worry about not having the full facts to hand - none of us do! That is, sadly, exactly what determines the standard of political debate in the UK and probably everywhere else in the world, too.
My view is this - David Cameron (and others in his party) gambled the entire geopolitical and economic position of the UK on a single referendum - which he lost. I doubt many people (regardless of political persuasion) actually wanted a referendum in the first place. There are positive reasons for leaving and remaining - but gambling the welfare of a nation in an attempt to resolve difficulties in your own party was an appalling idea.

maybe living in a deeply racially polarised country does give someone an insight into racial bias? but don't take my word for it, maybe do some research?

let me Google that for you....

Poverty inextricably linked to discrimination and racism – UN Special Rapporteur: http://www.ohchr.org/EN/NewsEvents/Pages/D...p;LangID=E

Lower Cognitive Ability Predicts Greater Prejudice Through Right-Wing Ideology and Low Intergroup Contact: http://pss.sagepub.com/content/early/2012/...6.abstract

Older People Are More Prejudiced - And They Can't Help It: http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/200003260..._sys.shtml

Also, the operative word in my previous post is *likely*, which you seemed to have missed.

And yes, ZA is a deeply divided country. And so it would seem, 'Great' Britain. At least over here we are trying to be honest about it and deal with it. --

We are also deeply divided but racism is NOT the issue.....

Narrow minded and bigoted be it categorised as a possibility or not!

Lack of education and lower cognitive ability is highlighted in your first two links as a fundamental reasons? However they hold no water, in your local case that went viral it stemmed from a renowned seat of learning, a University no less? Look to your own issues before blindly and needlessly commenting on others!

The third link was from a survey in Ohio not UK! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Naks you really should refrain from typing.

Your comments are the biggest reasons this thread should be locked. Deliberately inflammatory and provocative.

some Brits are going around name-calling and telling immigrants to go back to their country but I'm the one who is bigoted and narrow-minded for pointing out the most likely demographics of this? Rolling with laughter --
