I know that this petition probably won't achieve diddly, but there are over 16 remain & protest brexiters who are signing it every second - that's one hell of a convoy of campers & old school buses.

3.34 million and counting

Has anybody actually looked at this petition ?

It was raised on the 24th of May and was asking for changes to the, then, upcoming referendum. It was not raised after the result was in. At the date of the referendum there were 22 signatures.

So there are 3.34 million, and counting, signing up to ask for a change to something that has happened.

Should have gone to Specsavers Rolling with laughter

The Petitions commissioner has also made these figures public but everybody wants to ignore them for some reason ??

Sorry Russ, I must be wrong - I copied that off the BP website.
http://www.bp.com/en_az/caspian/operations...s/SCP.html

As Lambert says I would happily accept the result of a referendum where everybody knew all the facts and voted on them.

I have a very real problem that a large number of votes have been cast as a result of false promises by unelected celebrities masquerading as people of authority, knowledge and integrity - this wasn't even an election and we all know how dodgy election promises are!

So the NHS won't be funded to perfection (and possibly cut along with all other essential services when the economy starts to baulk) , immigration will be largely unaltered, but we can ignore a few laws that the likes of France and Greece were ignoring anyway is our best hope on Brexit - is it worth the risks?

Peace and Love

It seems to me, as can be seen from this thread if you look back to before the referendum, that the remain campaign didn't actually start until 23rd June and is now starting to gain momentum with people suddenly voicing their views. Not sure they've actually realised that they should have been arguing all this out a couple of months back.

Who'd have thought that a group of people who consider themselves so superior to those who voted leave wouldn't have had the intelligence to understand they were supposed to be campaigning to stay in the EU... http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

You raise a good point there davew.
Taking me as a remain voter, I saw the poll, voted in it then ignored the thread until voting day.

The result isn't what I wanted but I can live with that and I think we can make a go of things (I just think it will be harder). What I do have a big issue with is the headlining leave campaigners now coming out and saying "oh we didn't really mean that, but it doesn't matter"

Edit: oh, and looking back to my post before the result came out, I then claimed that I was disappointed by the quality of the campaigning on both sides. I think the behaviour of the leave camp since the result would seem to prove my point.

To date I have not heard of any actual detailed plans by the leave campaign on how the UK will leave the EU

What I do know is that the £ has fallen by about 17% against the USD and the Euro. Against the JPY it has fallen by about 40%

Diesel was about a £ per litre at the beginning of the year, now about £1.10 per litre with apparently another 2-3p rise in the near future

And another thing to ponder ....

Did anybody on the forum try to buy shares on Friday and succeed ?

I wanted to boost the old pension fund and when the prices fell thought it was time to get some more shares.

End result - nothing purchased at all. From what I have been told from people in the City no private purchases went through on Friday, only corporate deals were honored.

One hedge fund manager has come clean and admitted that he made £220 million profit for himself and his customers on Friday.

Does make you wonder.

In all honesty DaveW I don't even think the Brexit camp thought they would actually win, Boris was as shocked as everyone else!

I'm not a political animal, I do not consider myself to be 'superior', I am proud to be English, but am also a realist, I like to find out as much as possible about anything that I do and its consequences, I've spent more time on this than most things, going into detail with friends living in the EU last Christmas about Brexit and its potential consequences.

The world is shrinking, the financial markets that at present top up our economy are so interlinked with the global economy, if anywhere else in the world fails, we'll be on our own - is it worth the risk?

^^^^ Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

And Ickle, no offence but you said you were happy to accept the result so why are you consistently still trying to rubbish and complain and try and support the losing side...

Cameron was shocked too, hence his resignation so Boris being apparently shocked doesn't stack up.
Dave was a secret leaver I think anyway..

Not 24 hours before the outcome Dave was preaching about how positive he was about being a remainer and that he would stick by the country regardless of the result.
He backs a loser and throws his toys out the pram as soon as he lost.

The remain set have carried on like toddlers that haven't been given their ice cream they've been demanding. Rolling with laughter

Look at those Labour party fools too, shan't be voting for them again either.
Just like a bunch of kids.

What ever happened to being a dignified unity of democracy.
I couldn't be happier though, not ashamed of Great Britain. But Remainers slightly but much more the young I am.

Now would be fitting to stick Bobby Geldof on his yacht along with Izzard and the like and sail off into the sunset. Laughing

Joking aside, it isn't going to happen overnight, equally not take a lifetime either. Germany have been friendly. The French just want to get rid of those migrants.
Incidentally the 'swarm' that the top dog Remainer Dave called them, those were apparently the highly ethical educated people.

Then of course they were using charities like WWF and Martin Lewis's name and many more as being backers without permission!

Last night I was called a racist by one from an unsoicited email from a labour MP of which I never gave my email address to in the first place trying to get me to sign that fake petition.
Apparently to vote Leave is apparently a bit "odd" and using the word foreign is "racist".

Boris for PM I say! Mr. Green

custom90steve. Most people on this forum are now doubtless aware of your personal political views. Can I suggest there's no need for further intemperate contributions. This is a Land Rover site, not a political soapbox.
