Don't worry Eric, I did not take it personally.

Some people have been extremely vocal on their views. Interesting comparing this poll results with the actual referendum results

What annoyed me was that both sides did not give a clear, honest, open plans on what will happen to the UK after the results were declared.

I am no economist but I am concerned about exchange rates which most people seem to ignore. Yes people argue our exports will be cheaper, but as a country we import more goods then we export. I think prices and cost of living in the UK will increase now.

My fear is that in this rush by the common man to make Britain Great again ( I personally think we always were) will only succeed in making the United Kingdom very Disunited.

Surely the whole point of this referendum was to decide how to look positively to the uk's future. What has been decided by the majority is now what's happening, there's no point in worrying what might have been so like the British always do, let's make the best of it and move on Thumbs Up Ray

Just listened to Nicola Sturgeon and she confirms what I was worried about. A second referendum on Scottish independence is on the table as circumstances have materially changed.

Your right. I dont believe you.

But then looking at your profile your in Australia. A country that is independent and doesn't have to answer to another. A country that has tight border controls. A country that makes its own..... laws. I could go on and on.

Luxuries that the UK can now take back.....

Clearly, You have no idea of Aussie issues......"Doesn't have to answer to another"?......that is the most "uneducated"definition of Aussie that I've ever heard.
And if you went "on & on" along the same track, you'd be even "wronger".
"Secure Borders"?....At the moment, you are right on that one. However, if you are truly aware of the state of Aussie politics, you'd know that we have an election in 8 days time, the opposing parties being 50/50 at this stage....you would also no doubt be aware that the party in opposition at the moment does not have a "secure borders"policy,..rather they are open door.,....no doubt you know what that means.
Whilst your opinions are poles apart from mine,...actually, I hope you're right.
Pickles.

Ok pickles. Im clearly wrong in your opinion.

So tell me. Who does Australia answer to? France? Germany? Who tells you that you have to accept so many million imigrants against your will?

Im not Australian so i wouldnt be inclined to comment on Australian politics. Maybe you should consider the same courtesy?

Just a thought.

Barbara. Im Scottish. For the 1st time in my life im ashamed to be one.

In 2014 i voted to stay within the UK. As did the slight majority of Scots. Now they are talking about a 2nd referendum so Scotland can stay within the EU independently of the UK.

But all this is a knee-jerk reaction. I wonder hown many Scots will have the stomach for independence once they realise that we would have to adopt the EURO????

Should I? Na-ah, even when using a EU country shipping address, I will get slammed import VAT and all kinds of other customs duties on purchases from a non EU country like the UK now. Shocked You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Leaving the EU won't actually fix any of your perceived problems though, and makes it harder to fix the underlying issues.
If we want to continue trading with our neighbours we still have to follow their standards, same way that if people want to sell us stuff they have to follow our rules. The CE mark means a product meets European standards and can be sold in Europe and means we don't have to faff around making things meet French standards, Belgian standards, German standards... etc.

Now of course we also trade with the rest of the world, and that means we have to make stuff to conform to things like US standards and you know what that actually makes my life more difficult than if the standards were standardised.

P.S "you're" means you are, "your" means belonging to you. Your rights, the rights of you; you're right: you are correct. Your Australia, the Australia that you have; you're in Australia, you live in that country.

I can't help but feel that a lot of that is the Sturgeon-creature capitalising on popular mood for her own political ambitions. If it went to a second referendum, would the result be any different to last time? Turn-out might be better I suppose.

It is hard to argue against that contention that the people of Scotland will have more say in their own destiny as part of an independant UK than as part of an EU superstate. I would also challenge the assertion that circumstances have "materially changed" since at the time of the Scottish referendum it was known that the EU referendum was to happen and that there was the possibility that the majority of UK citizens might vote to leave.

I think that an awful lot of the opinions we've heard voiced this morning are the product of sore losers. The price of living in a democracy is that in the event you hold the minority view you have to accept the majority's wishes.
