Oh God

Living in Scotland (which voted to Remain)... and that crazy Sturgeon woman...another poll for Scottish Independence now on the cards.

Think I'll leave Scotland...can't cope with another load of Scottish racism against the English. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Last year we paid around 13 billion into the eu, and got around 4.5 back, all the so called eu funding is only a fraction of what we pay in,now we need to carry on by distributing that 4.5 billion ourselves and spend the rest of the 8.5 billion on getting this country back on its feet. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

The farming sub has been diminished year on year for a long time to the point where it is next to worthless unless you have a huge operation running a ranch style stock management approach. This is not how I am comfortable looking after my livestock and given the market status of my product I am looking forward to real market forces being used to improve the general quality of product. If there is no incentive to produce lots of low and average quality then producing fewer of better quality becomes increasingly viable. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Can only encourage that, but the public will have to be ready and able to pay the higher price for that. Unless you are a niche producer catering to the upper market segment of course in which case market forces are bit irrelevant. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I'm afraid you are going to continue to have to adhere to the Euro 5, 6, and further norms without any change or liberty. Or you won't sell any future Eewok and FFRR abroad anymore.

But maybe Boris is going to do away with the LEZ now in preparation for JLR focusing on a more tolerant UK market? Whistle

We here are not EU either, but as to car standards, full EU norms rule without any exception. Only difference we have is that we do not put any biodiesel in diesel fuel. Which is a good thing. Thumbs Up

Farming subsidies are stupid, a while back some beef payments were brought in so we got paid for every one that went and hey presto the price we were paid dropped the same amount overnight. All the subsidies do is prop up the supermarkets and mean we get food that's too cheap. However given that all our neighbours have similar subsidies I can't see British farmers not getting them, that's something we'd have to negotiate with everyone around us too. Which is why it's useful being at the negotiating table for such things...

So back to the referendum. The government and most elected representatives disagree on a fairly important issue with the British public that elect them and give them their mandate to govern. So is this a vote of no confidence in the majority of MPs? Boris wants us to remain in the single market, so does that mean we aim for a Norway style deal and keep the free movement of labour whilst paying vast amounts in to the EU coffers with no place at the negotiating table?

nonsense, that is Nigel Farage-ist propaganda.

Not surprisingly: EU referendum: Nigel Farage disowns Vote Leave '£350m for the NHS' pledge hours after result

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/polit...99906.html

Quote:
The Leave campaign was repeatedly rebuked by the UK Statistics Authority for claiming the UK paid the EU £350 million a week. The figure does not take into account Britain’s rebate or money paid to the UK from the EU budget under grants for policy areas like agriculture and regional development.

Quote:
In fact, the independent and respected Institute for Fiscal Studies has said the net effect of leaving the EU would be for a £36 billion black hole in the public finances to open up during the spending period as a result of lower growth and tax revenue.

Is this the same Standard & Poors who gave Freddy Mac & Fanny Mae AAA credit ratings? Who rated the sub prime mortgage debt as AA+? 🤔🤔🤔
