Engine surging when changing gears
Exactly as it says on the tin. When I change gears it takes a few seconds for revs to drop and sometimes under hard acceleration when I lift off the accelerator the engine still surges. I suspected sticking turbo actuator but it appears to move freely under test

Ps this is a 2.4 not a 2.2 so no "it's Land Rover rev hang to make gear change smoother" explanations please

First test is to unplug the clutch switch and see if that makes a difference, No difference and you've found the problem.

Are your bake lights working? sounds daft but if the brake fuse has blown it thinks it is in low range with associated changes to the way it is fueled.

Yes brake lights working

Clutch switch seems likely as I have an aftermarket cruise control fitted that should be wired to the clutch but when clutch dipped it doesn't disengage cruise so will try that first

Gets worse with clutch switch disconnected so guess we have a winner! Didn't look very closely at the switch, does it have any adjustment in it as it feels like it is just in the edge of catching at the bottom of the clutch pedal
