Recovery Points
Hi all,

I have a 110 with standard front bumper. I am soon to be doing some off road work and have been wondering about adding some recovery points for the front and rear. Any recommendations?

Prefer for an onslaught of arguing and conflicting information!

Jate rings
HD Bumper with recovery eyes
Steering guard with recovery eyes.
Bumper mount d rings.

Pretty well summarises the options. Having the long and hard, I think I'm going to go with a pair of jate rings, and always use a bridle. That (IMO) will more than stand up to the type of recovery I'm likely to need.

No real argument from me Mike Razz

Would also throw a 2" receiver into the ring as well

Be warned, lash down eyes are NOT recovery points.

Get good quality rated shackles and straps.

Now consider the position of the recovery points. Jate rings are difficult to get to when youare already stuck in the mire. Closer they are to the front the easier they are to attach to when stuck in the mire.

And make sure whatever shackles you have fit the recovery points.

Lifting strops are cheap, stong and long but there's no give in them which makes for a recovery that's painful for you, the strop and the vehicles involved. Nylon ropes are (IMO) better but they're very bulky.

Thanks all for the options. Think I may go for the Jate rings initially hoping to get a bumper sorted later.

What would you recommend for the rear?

do you have any sort of tow hitch already? The standard jaw is pretty good but don't use the tow ball.

I have two jate rings on the front and attached a strap ready if I think there may be a issue but equally don't do extream off road just muddy fields so not going to get lost in the mud. I am looking at a receiver for the rear as quite a fan of these but only just found one that fits the bill at the Malvern show.
