Puma cutting out
Help my 2007 defender puma is not due a service for 3000 miles.
It has started cutting out mainly when approaching junctions.
I have changed the fuel filter and no change still the same.
Hope somebody can help.
Thanks John.

Best to post this in the Puma section, but is the fuel poor quality/dirty?

Chris.

Hi..Shorti26
Yer iv had the same agro with my last 2 Ford Transits...which share the same basic engine type.!
My last one did it really badly..i was without it many times whilst in under warrantly.!!
It had new fuel pump and an ECU upgrade in the end, which cured it..it did it worse when cold.
On my latest Transit..which has done 28,000 miles and 3 years old, its doing the cuting-out bit all the time and at its worse also from cold.
Iv just got a fuel filter today to fit..as iv been told that SHOULD cure it.!!

Good Luck

Jon

I'm told it's the alarm disabling the engine. There is a kit, for £5.00, to by pass the engine cut out on the alarm. When mine does it the proceedure is: turn off, arm the alarm, unarm the alarm, open a door then shut it and it starts first time. Someone said it's because you are near a Wi-Fi point. Don't know about that one.
