Hi,
Me and my Dad have been noticed that the front bumper on our 110 Puma has been riding lower than normal for quite a while now. This is probably because it has a Warn 9.5ti winch and a aftermaket bumper on it. I am a aware that Land Rover do a heavy duty suspension kit for the defender but I was wondering if this fits on the standard chassis? Thanks Jack |

I was looking to get the HD springs from Landrover but decided on Old Man emu OME751 front and ome 755's on the rear from devon 4x4. A few guys on here have these fitted with no problems with prop clearance etc. and they have winches, roof racks etc.
You can get them HERE The Landrover HD coils for a 110 are: FRONT COILS PART No. POS. COLOUR CODE. NRC 9448 F/O/S BLUE/RED NRC 9449 F/N/S YELLOW/WHITE REAR COILS NRC 6904 R/N/S RED/GREEN NRC 6389 R/O/S RED/RED |

I have the same problem on my 110DC ... I recently bought the Land Rover front HD ones ... Hoping to solve my problem ... A friend replaced on his 110DC and his truck has improved a lot! It's leveled!
Was going to fit them this last week, but got the A flu! Will post pics when I fit them ... at the end of next week ... Í`m not sure if pre-2007 spring coils are effective on Pumas. This vehicle has a different suspensión-driveline geometry and may not accept any lift. So some of the new HD springs have a different spare number compared to the lastest Td5 etc. I might be wrong. Puma 110" SW

I think you'll find its from a LR paint pot but not the Defender brochure! Andrew has a thread somewhere on his 130 build in "my defender" subforum, details are in there as I recall... (Balti Blue sounds familiar?) Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain... XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |

Caution!
Puma drivetrain is about 180kg lighter than Td5 drivetrain. So HD Springs out of a Td5 have a different effect in a Puma WANTED: SII or SIII in max 1.5k |

Last year I was thinking of putting HD LR springs on my 110 after taking advice on here and when I spoke to the dealers about fitting them they sniggered and told me mine being an XS was already fitted with them and that the only up grade was 130 rears. Was/is this correct?

Sorry perhaps I was unclear. I meant they said I could only uprate the rears and that would be with 130 rated springs and my fronts were already HD ones.

From MCat for 110"&130"
1-RKB500300: WHite/green/green 2-RKB101111: brown/purple, Station Wagon, 5 door with 5 seat configuration 3-RRC3266: coil helper, HD suspension. However, from what have seen 130" come with 2+3. Not sure how a 110" would go with 2 or 1+3. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

I don't want to lift it much just to give a little more room for the 285's and to level the front up a bit. As soon as I have some spare cash I was going to the OME as recommended earleir in the thread. I don't have a winch but i do have a HD bumper that seems very heavy compared to the one it replaced. I did have OME springs and shocks on a 110 years ago and it really did transform the ride.

Defender 110 and 130 rear coils have a nominal outside diameter of 7" compared to 6" on the front
NRC9462 90HD R/D/S Length= 15.25inches, lb/inch= 210/240, coils= 9.2, with colour code green/yellow/red NRC9448 110HD F/D/S Length= 15.31 inches, lb/inch= 225, coils= 8, with colour code blue/red. Not much in it size wise James, a good shout if you have the 90hd rear coils lying around or want that extra bit of stiffness and loading
RKB101111, D110 (VIN XZ159807 up), Rear, Length= 16.10, lb/inch= 270/420, coils= 8.8 with colour code brown/purple are standard rear coils. NRC6904, 110 HD, R/N/S, Length= 15.55 inches, lb/inch= 330, coils= 8 with colour code red/green NRC6389, 110 HD R/O/S, Length= 16.02 inches, lb/inch= 330, coils=8 with colour code red/red These are the HD springs for the 110. The drivers side will always be that bit stiffer to compensate for the weight of the driver so the landy sits level when driving. HTH Brian. Last edited by Lorryman100 on 17th Jan 2011 4:07pm.
