^^^^ completely agree with that one! ^^^^^

I think this country's road networks are a disgrace regarding what gets slung out of car windows!
If you ever cross over to France it's amazing how clean and well kept the roadsides are compared to that of the UK.

Traveling up the A34 / M40 today it was as if a dustbin lorry had shed it's load.
Is it that difficult to keep it in the car until you get home?

It really is quite something..... Shocked

Dirty Censored !!!

I'm forever picking up rubbish from along our lane that the locals have chucked out of their car windows. I even get glass bottles thrown into the horses paddocks. It's just as bad here in France.

Have you been to the uk recently?

We lived In Lower Normandy for a few years, and I must say I found it immaculately kept.
Not one piece of litter on the roads.

On our return back to the uk, highlights just how bad this country's litter problem is!

The M27/A34 is simply apauling, it really does get my Censored back up! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

I think perhaps the south is dirtier than the north. Lets not talk about all the dog poo in all the towns, its pretty gross when temps are in the high 30s low 40s especially when it ends up on your shoes. Evil or Very Mad

You have a point there!
Why do the French tolerate dog mess on the pavements?

Just got back from a three day round trip from Chamonix to Bradford and back again. French roads and motorways a joy. British road system? Dirty, congested, angry, badly maintained, did I say congested, and as far as the M1 was concerned, a 50mph road works between Luton and Leeds. Effing miserable experience from the moment I disembarked at Dover. Yes, it might have cost me £50 in Peage tolls between Cham and Calais, but I'd pay that any day for the fast, clean and almost entirely empty Tarmac. Obviously, this does not count in August, but for the other 11 months utter bliss. And unless I become wealthy enough to have a helicopter a large contributing factor to the reason I won't be moving back.... Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I avoid the A7 in July and August. It would be nice to visit the beach but it's just too crazy. We go up into the mountains and find a nice quiet river instead. Traffic around Montelimar, Avignon etc can be hellish all year round. Should be quieter this week though as everyone runs out of fuel LOL.

Likewise, I'm picking up the SW and heading back to France at start of next month. M1, M25, M20....likely all at rush hour. Bliss. And all after having run the gauntlet that is Luton Airport.... Big Cry Monsieur Le Grenadier

Americanisms that have appeared in our language. Evil or Very Mad

Such as It’s not “a season”, it’s a series.

It’s not...
A faucet, it’s a tap

A sidewalk, it’s a pavement

A highway, it’s a motorway

Its not Gas, it’s called petrol

A restroom, it’s a toilet

They’re not fries, they’re chips

It’s not a bar, it’s a pub

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

What are they then, to me they are strips of potatoes deep fried in oil no matter what their size they are chips, and how many times do you hear egg and fries please.

Even worse are those foodies who call them finger chips, or French-fried potatoes, they are chips, Laughing I tell you and even worse than that are the gourmets who call them batonnet or allumette sautéed cut potatoes. Shocked

God give me strength, If I went to my local chippy and asked the fryer for a portion of allumette sautéed cut potatoes please my good man! and easy on the vinegar, well you can imagine his answer . Rolling with laughter

And Americans can’t call them chips, because they call crisps, chips, I ask you, the daft bug*rs Whistle For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
