The standard control plug completes a circuit to a remote battery isolator on the D3. ie there is no main battery live at the solenoid if the controller is unplugged. Personally I would replace the solenoid box with an Albright as its a smaller neater package and simply put a good old fashioned manual battery isolator in the main cable. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, agree the Albright would be much neater and simpler will upgrade at some point so far making progress only the blue controller cable is a mystery now, rest up and running . Any clue on the blue wire?

Unfortunately no I cannot recall and I no longer have the vehicle to go and look. They are a relatively simple system so what do you have wired to where? It may come back to me. There is a winch in, winch out, and a basic ring circuit that completes to turn on the remote battery isolator ie the hand held completes the circuit constantly when you plug in.

You should have a remote isolator a bit like this or a variant of it.

I absolutely have that solenoid and I have taken the white constant 12v live via this to the controller and on my set up this is all working fine I just have an obsolete blue cable, warn list as thermal cut out..... I can live with it being detached more curiosity of correct usage. Thanks so much for the response.

I don't recall ever having a thermal cut out wire. If it all works I should just ignore it. It does work??? i do recall the origional wiring had to many wires and clutter. Sorry I can't recall more. It may well come back to me. Again I would just say change out to an Albright. It really is a better package and your in there now anyway.

I've fitted a 9.5 xp from a D4 to my 110. Had to get the remote socket removed and connected to the solonoid box. Made a metal bridge over the drum to hold the control box. I had to extend the wiring from winch to battery.
