United Kingdom 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Keswick Green
Puma 2.2 spin on oil filter
I got my 90 new in January and after covering about 800 miles decided to do an oil change just to make sure there was no manufacturing swarf in the engine and to make sure it had decent oil. I know, probably a bit paranoid but keeps me happy.

Got Millers C1 from Opie oils (yes, its the correct spec for my 2016 model Mr. Green ) and visited my nearest main dealer to make sure I got the correct filter which I paid £15.90 for. I thought that was quite expensive at the time and after taking it out of the box its just a Ford Motor Co branded spin on filter.

Still, if I didn't want any warranty issues then this is the way to go. When I did the filter change it was really tight and its difficult to use a chain wrench in the confined area below the engine so I ended up banging a screw driver through it. Messy but it worked.

This time I want to my local ford dealer and asked for a filter for a 2016 2.2 transit and low and behold the same filter turned up in a ford box this time costing £13.20.

So, for anyone who wants to save a couple of quid or has a Ford dealer nearby here is the part number..

and to make things easier I popped down the road to Halfords and got one of these:

as the Ford parts man told me Ford do not supply the tool for removing their filters. In fact Ford supply no tools what so ever !

Hope you find this helpful
