ARB fridge - air vent protection
I want to use my ARB fridge in the back of my series one on a trip with the rear canvas folded up this year, but am wondering about how much dust etc may be drawn into the air vents for the compressor. So I was thinking of taping some foam over the sides in order to try and keep some of the dust out.

Does anyone have a better solution, or is this likely to cause overheating issues? All suggestions welcome Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Hi Mark,

Not sure where you are planning on going but I would not worry.

We went across the Australian deserts with windows and vents open. Everything got coated in red dust, (Still finding it!) Just ensure that air can flow into the compressor.

H'mm, if you would seriously want to filter the dust you would have to use a piece of foam in the inlet vent that I think really would be restrictive and impaire air flow... May you can carry out some measurements with a small temperature probe inside the compressor compartment to check the inluence of the restricted air flow. May be you can replace the fan with one having more flow - just some thoughts, I do not have experience with these matters. Wink Cheers, Vincent

A piece of proper filter media would be more suited to the job than foam
