Not today but on Saturday, spent the day out in Kielder forest helping out on the Kielder 4x4 Safari raising money for The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team.

Will take one or two for you later. They fit behind the trim but did have trim off a little bit to make it easier to get in. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

see the Flying Scotsman steam past pastures green but sadly didn't happen . Nothing else for it then but to take a trip along the coast in ' topless Berty '
Although the LWT is built and running there's ALWAYS a million jobs to do and the coast road found me listening to 1 too many squeaks and rattles. Clean clothes off and overalls on it soon became clear I couldn't rock the body about and lay underneath at the same time , so in times of need call the missus . I'd shown her how to stand next to the rear wheel , hold onto the tub and rock it back and forth to make all the squeaks happen , while I rumbled about on my back with an oil squirter in one hand and a WD40 gun in the other . Of course there's not one squeak but about a dozen different areas of annoying noises And also by this time grunts and groans of the wife panting that it's too much and her arms can't take it much longer. I told her she better be in for the long haul as I'm not leaving till I get every last annoying noise and squeal. 40 minutes later ,,,,,, many mouthfuls and eyefulls of WD40 , bashed knees , skint elbows and a crossmember to the temple , I'm happy . SQUEEK FREE . All spring bushes ,shackles , bolts , top and bottom shock mounts , props , engine - gearbox mounts , floor and tub bolts oiled and now no more noise . I now have the worlds quietest LWT , on the other hand I also have the most crabbit , inpatient ,faffing wife in the country that demands to know if ' all the other sad guys in your chat forum have wife's that would stand and push their landrovers backside for half an hour till there arms drop off ' Lovely sound of a 2.25 petrol with no squeaks eh ! I hope you get the scenario. Keith |

Nice Defender (can't beat a V8 IMHO!), nice views. What size tyres are they?...Just that they look wider/better than standard? Pickles. |

Have used the SVX all weekend long in rain and shine to taxi visiting family during the weekend who came as surprise visitors to help celebrate my milestone round number birthday. So yesterday, after dropping them at the airport again on my actual birthday, I ran it through the local carwash, followed by hand towel drying, topping battery up on the Ctek, WD40 in the S1 and N1 electrics, ACF-50 in all door hinges, rubber treatment on door rubbers, then drove it back to its secured underground office parking where it will rest during this weeks biz trip to the East-European country which as per hearsay apparently won the Eurovision song festival last Saturday.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Replaced the Ford clutch with something that should last a little longer.
