Not all of them had ABS.

Thanks for the picture (and the hand for scale!). doesn't look familiar, but there is a lot of stuff jammed in there. Will be interesting to see later tonight, is it located near the brake servo? (driver side, i.e. on the upper left when looking back for us). Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

in the UK it was standard on XS models and an option on others upto 2011 DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

Assuming I don't have it ( ), and that I know what it does, the benefits etc. - how much of a game changer really is it:
- Driving around a muddy farm. - Off-roading. - Sealed roads in the rain. Looking for real world experience here Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

Mine hasn't got it, i haven't had any problems without it off road.
Its just more to go wrong in my opinion. |

I read somewhere that ABS works for 0.00000256% of a vehicles lifetime but that 5 seconds will probably save your life. TC now that's a game changer. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

I ordered a 2011 "County" spec...because I DIDN'T want TC & ABS

I've rarely seen my traction control do anything except when on an axle twister and then some revs resulted in it transferring power to the wheels on the ground and got me moving.
There are lots of threads on here about it and the benefits and dis benefits. Locking axles are probably more useful off road, however ABS could prove immensely valuable if someone pulls out in front of you on a wet road DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Hell yeah, we 4X4 guys are tuff, we have roof racks with nuclear LED's and spacehopper tyres on our Tonka trucks but who needs ABS? The kid running out in front of you on a moist road, that's who! 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

I don't think anyone would disagree that ABS is useful in that circumstance, but just because you choose not to have ABS, it doesn't mean you're a reckless idiot. Personally I chose to forgo ABS/TC deliberately due to the added complexity - same for heated screen and seats. For me I prefer to accept that I need to drive carefully and in accordance with the conditions in all circumstances as I do not have the back up of an electronic aid. I also run XZLs on my 110, which aren't ideal wet road tyres so I drive accordingly. You'll find the largest fleet of 90s and 110s in the country do not have ABS/TC and run XZL or G90s ... |

This is a Wabco ABS pump Click image to enlarge Think Landrover fitted Bosch pumps eventually...Not that they're any better,lol. Click image to enlarge Both look similar,you'll find them in the top O/S position under the bonnet (assume the opposite for left hookers). Also the brake master cylinder on an ABS only has two brake pipes (1 front 1 rear,non-ABS has 3.....2 front 1 rear). Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

As said,axle lockers are better than T/C.If you wished you had ABS fairly often maybe you could slow down a bit !! Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
