Sussed - Wrong hole!
The correct hole is the one to the left of the bolt head in the picture. Trim panels back on with some foam behind to try and reduce noise and stop rattles. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Sorry, should have said. The hole its in in the picture is used to position the plate. Ray

beat me to it. I just removed mine today. Horizontal straight thru with flat surface to the panel and use the other whole to locate screw.
