Puma 2.4L fuel filter priming via syringe?

Been reading all the Puma 2.4L fuel filter threads...

So I'm wondering if a syringe like this would do the job:

I've already got one, so I figure I can:

- suck through diesel into syringe at engine end
- put this filtered diesel in new filter along with a wee bit of oil on the rubber seal (this step replies on syringe being clean and clear itself)
- remove old filter
- replace with new filter

then either
- turn on ignition and let it run with a few revs for a few mins, job done (?)
or:
- suck diesel at engine end until any air has been pulled through (i.e. a 'bleed')
- turn on ignition and let it run with a few revs for a few mins, job done (?)

Sound reasonable?

All I do is fill up filter with clean diesel,take off old filter quickly.
Fit new filter start up and just keep the revs up for 2-3 minutes.
I haven't had any problems.

That seems to be the standard way to go about it and I'd do it, but I just got thinking about the 'problem' of unfiltered diesel particles in the injectors (that doesn't appear to have happened to anyone) and the occasional story of hiccups because of air in the line.

My suggestion was prompted by the thread with the inline pumps:

No harm in using a syringe if you got one

I would be a little cautious using one of those metal syringes, I have two and both were full of metal swarf when new.

If any of this goes into the injection system hello big bills...

Thinking I'll just use it to do the suction part and not to source the filtered fuel for the filter. Should be OK as the fuel will end up in a bucket and not the injector

Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
