Well after a busy few weeks with job interviews and university visits I had a day free to spend on painting today. Despite waking up to a blanket of snow I managed to etch prime most of the parts before I ran out! Big Cry and got primer on most of the tub components, hopefully it'll progress a little faster now I can devote more of my free time to it! Any painting tips gratefully received.[URL=]

RAL 2004 orange in the end, it appears to be similar enough to the G4 orange so I'm happy Thumbs Up Hopefully things will pick up a bit now and I can get on with the body swap.

Personally I don't think white wheels sit as well if your going down the route of black detailing, but it all depends on the look your trying to achieve.

Original G4's had standard boost alloys

But the support vehicles had white wolfs

White wolfs are all you can get on a standard 130 from the factory no alloy options as not up to the weight specs

Well, after a very early start before work today I managed to get the final coat of orange on the tub, not the best finish in places but I'm not building a show piece.

Managed to get some more bits painted yesterday afternoon, that's the first batch of spraying done (orange outside and black interior). Starting to take the old body off today, then it's time to line up all the new shiny panels before I do the doors, wings and roof.

Think it's time for a progress update! Been held back by silly little bits and work but we're making progress now! Deadline is a month away so I feel a lot of late evenings approaching! Still looking for a final few bits if anyone had an air con grill or door check straps..

I'm not sure whether to just re-fit the original matt black wheel arch spats to save time or go the whole hog and spray them gloss black :?
