Weird scangauge issue
Just got my Scangauge in the post. Plugged it in, had a good fiddle, got it working etc all fine.

Firstly - wouldn't clear my P1103 fault. Just goes into blank screen of death. Manual says that this happens when it cant connect to engine. Can't be right as its a NY09 Puma and all the feeds are coming through fine from the engine and it's clearly reading the fault. Any idea's how to clear the code? P1103 was the only code in the ECU.

The second issue - went to go for a drive to test it out after killing the engine and starting up again. First thing I noticed was the Scangauge began to load, failed and then turned off. Next thing I noticed was that the battery warning light was on and the tacho was reading zero (ie not working), headlights weren't on but seat warmers were still working! Car was in limp-home mode with no power at all. Stopped - checked connections to battery, fuses etc and all seemed fine. After turning ignition on and off twice the problem went away.

All very strange. Would be interested to hear thoughts.

I would check the Scangauge and vehicle OBD connectors to make sure there are no bent/pushed back pins or sockets! The best time to clear codes is to do it immediately after turning the ignition off and then back on to the first position again (within the timescale of the Scangauge shutting down period)! If you have a second vehicle try the Scangauge on that! Thumbs Up
With regards to the remaining symptoms you describe having downloaded 97 pages of fault codes from Dgardel's site myselfi and if your Scangauge is reading codes you should be able to read them to clarify what's wrong!!! The codes from the fault will be stored in your ECU. Post the codes up here or 'pm' Dgardel or download them yourself and all will hopefully be explained! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Cheers - will have a fiddle with the plug and try again with the timing you suggest.

Thing is though, after losing power/electrics/batt warning light and then going back to normal there were no fault codes. Only one registering is the MAF sensor which was there before. This is why it stumped me!

Also baffles me too! If it was a genuine fault one would expect some codes I would have thought? Question If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Sorted now. Managed to clear codes using K9F's advice. Limp home issue hasn't re-occured so all good.
