Not a bad guess for a visiting Ozzy eh!
I know that place well... 'windmill corner' about 2 miles from the roundabout leading to Falmouth I thought... Perfect if the weather is the same! As it looks in your photo! I may well 'retire' there one day... Off for a pint now! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

So early start this morning as I set off to pick my Defender 90 HT up from CSK Automotive, Hoddesdon at 06:30 (I'd been awake since 03:30 )
I dropped it off there on Tuesday for an Alive stage two remap and a full suspension lower comfort setup and met the owner Chris and he's dad Steve. I have to say two of the nicest and genuine guys you could possibly hope to leave your P&J with which is of the most importance to me. Even though I booked in a few weeks ago to have the work done they both remembered my name when I walked in to their workshop Tuesday, they both made plenty of time to chat to me about the work they were carrying out on not only mine but many of the other vehicles they had down there. WOW.... !! What a transformation this morning when I picked it up. First impressions it was sitting level which is nice and exactly what I wanted it makes the vehicle look so much nicer IMHO and the wheels fill the arches better. I know that the slightly lower look isn't everybody's cup of tea but I really like it! So, so far so good ! Then it was time to drive the 50 or so miles home along A roads and the M25... My first impression pulling away was.... smooth!! Exiting out the industrial Estate on to a one way system the acceleration was much better longer and smoother thought the gears I wasn't pushing it I was enjoying the less than bumpy ride from the new suspension set-up It was pouring with rain with plenty of surface water laying on the roads I was taking the bends under more acceleration than I would normally have done in the rain but I was interested to see what the road holding was like? It splashed around the bends like it was on rails... very impressive I was driving over manhole covers and potholes with out a care in the world, my head not hitting to roof ! The acceleration throughout the gear range is much improved, smoother and a dream to drive. The torque from 2nd gear onward is much improved. Once on to the M25 and in 6th gear there really wasn't any need to downshift to speed-up there is bags or torque in 6th all the way from 50mph to over 100mph - allegedly !! IMHO it was money well spent it has transformed the bumpy ride to a much smoother enjoyable one. It will never be as smooth as a luxury modern car or 4X4 come to that but this mod certainly for me anyway has mad a big difference. The remap has made my 90 a more fun vehicle to drive with the power to keep up with modern vehicles without having a wrestling match with that damn gear stick every couple of hundred yards! It really is a nicer place to be and although not cheap mods to carry out IMHO it was worth every ha'penny......
