Most to be fair at land rover shows.

Some people like to "talk themselves up" so to speak Laughing

Tis true what Brendan says....sometimes you hae to try different things to see what suits you as well, which is why you shouldn't go getting all the bling n stuff. It might well just be a waste of money. Every trip I do, I manage to improve something Wink Sure is a slowly evolving thing

You need to try to get out and look at what other people do. Nothing wrong with walking up to another bloke and asking how he finds certain bits of his gear Very Happy

this is my setup.

for our next trip the RTT will be moved to the front, this setup makes the 90 too back-heavy.

We have a drawer system inside, with ammo boxes & a fridge, which are easily accessible by the gullwing doors:

I've removed the stupid plastic interior trim to gain more packing space in the load bay.

exactly. some of the so called "overland" companies would do well to learn that a lot of the stuff they sell is just not required

But that's what modern society is all about buying/selling stuff you don't need Confused

Some cracking photos Uncle Ray. Bow down

Hope you did not mind me cropping your other photo.

When it comes to equipping a vehicle that is why I talk about NEEDS rather then wants.

I know of one overland equipment company where the owners have an impressive lack of overland experience, Whistle

tack...i reckon that system looks ace (and somewhat affordable Thumbs Up )

couple of questions please...

1. where do you get the tarp/awning jobbie from?

2. as for the oztent poles, where/how much?

looks good and a somewhat flexible design approach...i like it

btw...all round a nice looking truck/set-up Thumbs Up

al

Embarassed i didnt see the same topic on the other thread, questions still apply though

Al thx, guys have beat me to answer your questions, yes they are right, the poles are good quality and you can get them direct with BOAB, I have an Oztent too, so in theory paid about £500 for my poles Rolling with laughter

The Basha I think I may have brought from USMCpro, but there are loads on the internet as the guys said Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Decided while I was bored with the flue and nothing to do, to see if I could make something to take my Basha without using the Patriot rack for when I use a ground tent. So used some Ali section 2.8m (poweder coated) which was kicking around (few holes in it already) and created a rail to fit the basha to it, which in turn a couple of brackets then fit the rail to my Thule roof bars. Some strategic placed eye bolts and some mini carabiners and Bobs my uncle!

Additional beneift of the rail is that i can tie the oztent to the rail as well as the roof bars when its packed, I might by the oztent awaning connector and add it that to the rail too. It very strong and took about 3-4 hours to do Mr. Green

will probably put some eye bolts on the patriot rack now and leave the carbs on the basha as this would work better than the bunges i was using and at 15 seconds to fit much easier Mr. Green Thumbs Up

just an idea and very bored Sad

This set up was spotted in Norway, available commercially from Denmark.

At one stage WVA/Safari Equip were doing a similar set up
