Springs and Shock absorbers Defender 90 300Tdi
Hi, I need to fit new springs and shocks to my Defender 300 Tdi CSW. I am considering standard height Land Rover original springs and I am being advised to use Bilstein shocks. I will be replacing the bushes and am considering Polybush Orange. I use the car for greenlaning and some (gentle, not extreme) off roading. I dont know much about shocks and springs, can anyone giev me some advice?

I am running standard front springs on both the front and rear with Terrafirma dampers. The front springs on the rear give a much softer smoother ride. I have also got red polybush all round.

I find this set up spot on and cost a fraction of the 'special' suspension packages out there.

OK, many thanks for that. I am looking also looking at standard Land Rover springs and some form of alternative shocks. Terrafirma have been suggested as have Extreme 4x4's own, oil filled shocks (not gas).

I have run Boge Shocks with the Std Land rover Springs as a cost effective option, ride is not bad and prefer them over the TF ones as IMHO the TF ones are a little hard on an unloaded 90.

Some also find the Bilsteins a tad hard off road and are usually considered as more of an on road or expedition upgrade where towing and heavy loads are involved.

But if I was spending money the adjustable Koni Shox would be my first choice.

Many thanks, I will look into Koni. I spoke with the Bilstein people, they told me that they had nothing that would fit with a Defender 300 Tdi!
