200 TDI Fuel Injection pump
HI,

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a fuel injection pump for a 1992 Defender 200 TDI.

Potentially my one is goosed, Car won't start , get fuel to pump, , possibly the solenoid , but currently with garage, just fitted a new rear axle so money is a bit tight.

Looking at breakers / ebay etc , but so far no joy, anyone got any suggestions?

It's going to be unlikely the injection pump that's goosed
I would check fuel lines ok then replace lift pump with new one , lift pump
Diaphragm prob knackered and pop new solenoid if that's sticking.
There was a trend for dealers to swap lift pump and injection pump when only lift pump
Was worn , those injection pumps are good for at least
500,000 mile before you need to touch it.
My guess it you haven't got fuel at injector then stop solenoid Have fun be happy

Check the return pipe unions are tight on the injectors otherwise the pump pulls in air from them and gives you starting issues. Pull the plunger out of the stop solenoid and check for any signs of metal swarf stuck to it, that's a sure sign of pump issues. The earlier VE used on the 200 are much longer lived than the 300 version that is prone to shaft and cam ring problems but I have seen problems with the 200s so don't discount it.
