I had the same issue with my 200 TDI 90, and the mild steel replacements whilst cheap don't last 5 minutes. I stuck a janspeed stainless on it that I had off eBay and it's fab. Far better quality than the double SS that's on my Td5 110.

Might be worth having a look at this site if not too far from you - just off the M4 junction 18 https://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/

I have heard great things about the janspeed exhausts, but at nearly £400 I can't afford one at present .
I'll give Martin a ring on Tuesday and see what he can do, he's not local but i can always pop down to collect. |

You say off the shelf is expensive. I bought a replacement front section and straight through centre from dingocroft for £130 all in.

Alive may do something to suit, not sure if they do or not but might be worth a look. Not likely to be cheap but will last a lifetime no doubt and be too quality.
May be worth a look. |

Keith,
Not sure who are the best but would avoid the SS (Double S) brand. I unfortunately fell for their hype buying one for my S1 and have had nothing but trouble with it. The owner has been especially obtuse when I have tried at various stages to replace corroded parts of the system to the point that I have now reverted back to mild steel. Decision made . Went for Rimmer Bros standard bore . Yes it's a double S and yes the flanges are mild steel but I shall look after it and should get a few years of shinny . Big bore too noisy.
Cheers Keith |

Sure is, Obtuse sums up all these in one word. Dull-witted, Simple-minded, Thick-headed, Imperceptive, stupid, foolish, Senseless, Unwise Unintelligent, Dim, Dense, Brainless, Witless With rounded tip or a mathematical angle greater than 90 degrees or an angle between 90 but less than 180 For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |
