Hello Hugh
I am guessing that as it is the drivers side it has had more use and just given up the ghost. The wife had a 2002 TD5 disco with the same issue, checked the fuses - wiring and so asked the dealer - decided that it was not worth the cost at the time Might be worth talking to your local Exmoor Trim dealer to get a quote to change the pads over All the best Mark |

Thanks Mark, out of interest can you remember roughly how much the dealer was after to fix/investiagte the issue on your defender?
Thanks Hugh |

not sure if it's the same on a TD5 but had similar thing on mine (Puma) - the seat base and seat back are wired in series so if one part goes the whole lot stops working - replacing the seat base on mine cured it - have a search on here - there was a thread a while ago.

Thanks for the help chaps. I found there was no circuit in the seat base so stripped the upholstery off and found 2 wires had broken along with the coil, after some soldering i now have a working heated seat!
