Think there is something called 'trailer board' that has a slightly raised surface pattern for extra grip, never tried it but it may work??

Question is why do you want to board a roof rack?

Extra weight up top which reduces your carrying capacity

Think one of the trade names is Buffalo board

Mine has been done with galvanised weld mesh - 2" square mesh - rather than board. It means you can walk on it safely without falling through, it spreads the load across the whole rack, but does not have the same aerodynamic effect as plywood.

just a thought

i would surgesrt that ply would have less of an aero effect, bicycle wheels are none to create turbulance many times wider than the wheel, but it would be lighter so i guess it may even out.

on the plus side it should improve your MPG as a board would create lift making the motor weigh less. Thumbs Up

I used 'Buffalo Board' on mine (http://catalogue.chilterntimber.co.uk/category2070625.html). You can get it from most timber supplies. Depending on how much gap you have between the bottom of the rack and the landy's roof, you might have to put some large (about 2") holes in the buffalo board, or an air-dam at the front of the rack.
