Currently thinking of either the Axminster ED 16SB or the ED 16B2 Pillar Drill They can be found HERE
Trouble is I am used to drills in a physic dept research workshop. Those drills were 3ph and a long chuck travel. Those at Screwfix are a bit of a joke in comparison. If anyone has any comments/suggestions would like to hear them. Drill has to be single phase. Have tried the local surplus machine suppliers without luck Brendan |

Thanks Mick, called in at RM Sutcliffe today and got a bench drill,
Certainly better quality then Screwfix, not as good as the ones I used to be able to use in the research workshops. Made job of altering roof tent clamps a lot easier. Thanks Mick Brendan |

No problem glad you are sorted they are a bit droll in there but seem to have most things at a good price another good place is BAP at brighouse for bolts etc

That is another thing I have got to source. Managed to get hold of some twin battery trays but the bolts are 8 x 150. Could do with some 8 x 160 but can't find them in UK. Can get some from France but they want 20 euros P & P. Can get some 8 x 170 at global surplus but silly money is wanted. Most bolt suppliers say 8mm stop at 150mm but I do have a couple of 8 x 160 in lock up but have no idea where I got them from Brendan |

There is only one slight flaw with that plan!
I can't weld Also nice BZP will be more attractive. Am going to Leeds tomorrow so that a friend can weld some bolts onto the modified clamps for this roof tent. Will be picking some ali flat bar on my way for the bottom clamp. This is all because an X trail roof bars are wider then standard. Brendan |

So simple and you just gave me a solution how I was going to resolve my twin battery bolt dilemma.
Thanks Ray |
