Sticky/frozen throttle cable.....do these modern new things even have cables,dunno!Does the throttle stick when your parked up (out of gear)?? Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

No cables for a long time. If it's new then take it back to the dealer. Steve.

I would suspect mechanical issues with the pedal actuator. The pedal has a twin "rail" system that uses two different resistances travelling in opposite directions as the pedal moves as a fail safe to avoid issues like this or unexpected acceleration.
If its new just take it back to the dealer or preferably get it recovered by Land rover assist (you should have a few year's free cover with a new vehicle). The dealer should take the issue very seriously as its a safety critical concern. Its certainly not a "trait" of the 2.2 |

Does it stay on mock cruise control for an extended period?
My 2.4 does continue for a bit after I let off the pedal but I'm pretty sure that's just reverse turbo lag, it certainly feels like it is. The turbo is a funny beasty, first time I gave my mum a lift she thought there was a police car behind us the noise it makes! |

Hi all,
My 2011 does as cupboard says, if you change from a wide throttle opening onto the brakes swiftly, the engine takes a good second or so to transfer from full power to overrun, which can be a bit disconcerting. The turbo makes a great noise though. The first time my wife travelled in the 110 she kept telling me to look out for the fire engine that was approaching. When I told her it was just the turbo she said, 'well in that case you'll have to get rid of that because I can't cope with that awful noise on a long journey'!! The issue I have with mine that the dealer has been unable to sort, is that it 'shunts' when cold and travelling downhill with just a whiff of throttle. It seems that the correct signal is not being sent or received some where in the fly by wire throttle, and it is as though the throttle is on and then off sharply which only get's worse and worse till I depress the clutch or apply throttle to stop the shunting. There are multiple posts about this. Search 'rev hang'. It appears to be very common. My new Heritage does it - badly. BAS offer a solution but warranty implications may concern some owners.

This has been a problem for some since the introduction of the 2.4. Could be me but some seem to do it worse than others. Defiantly software related, I have no idea why defenders do it but never experienced it in a transit..........
