Good morning Ryan,
After reading following thread, http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43701.html, I have some questions: Is it true that there was an option on the regular 2015/2016 Defender 90's to have the ECU programmed at 150 bhp? Was this an option the dealer could have asked you for at the moment of ordering? If yes, is it possible to have an official Land Rover dealer install now that ECU or reprogram your ECU to that tune without any impact on warranty? My 90 got delivered in July 2015 and I found that information sheet about 150bhp among the papers, but thought that it would only apply to Adventure or Autobiography 90's. Kind regards, Patrick Last edited by Schlauch on 6th Feb 2016 12:21pm. Edited 3 times in total |

what risk is there provided you get it done correctly?
I've got a full alive stage 4 hybrid turbo and all.. they still warranty the car anything i ask of them, including a new gearbox and clutch not so long ago.. if its just a stage one, they'd never even know. |

A 150 BHP 'tune' on the rugged Ford 2.2 will have zero effect on longevity.
At 122 BHP, it is massively 'undertuned' for that cubic capacity. (My BMW 120d (only a 2.0 litre motor) is 174 bhp... and that can be 'chipped' to well over 250 bhp with no worries)! But JLR should tell us what is going on with this 'tune' option please? It's obviously not an issue regarding warantee as they specced the AD and the AB 90's with it. Looking fwd to hearing more on this... YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Having asked the question to LandRover Switzerland, and to some guys at the factory, the answer is no
No option to tune your engine officially at 150hp |

Hi Schlauch
Thank you for your post. I note your query and can advise that the 150bhp power upgrade was only offered on the following Limited Edition derivatives within the Celebration series for 16MY; Adventure - (90 Station Wagon only) Autobiography As such, there would be no option to offer this as an aftermarket upgrade as any modification would take the vehicle away from the original manufacturers specification. Regards Ryan |

Good evening Ryan,
Thank you for this information. So it wasn't even available when ordering a regular Defender through SVO? Kind regards, Patrick |

Hi Schlauch
Thank you for your post. I note your query and can advise that the Adventure and Autobiography variants as previously mentioned are the only Defender production models that we have offered the 150bhp power upgrade on. Regards Ryan |

Ryan - Would a Defender ordered, built, modified or added to via SVO constitute a "production model" or not?

Hi Supacat
Thank you for your post. I note your query and can advise that aside from modifying vehicles that are available to order by the general public, SVO also modify other vehicles that may be used for events, promotional or testing purposes. As advised, the Adventure and Auobiography variants of the Celebration series are the only Defender models that we have officially offered the 150bhp power upgrade on and as such, are the only SVO production model Defenders that feature this upgrade. Hope this helps. Regards Ryan |
